4D DRAPERY is a collection of wide-width fabrics that bring a new dimension to textured designs, transforming them into lightweight materials. Utilising sustainable linens, recycled cottons, and organic jute, these fabrics feature a tumbled appearance and relaxed character, embodying a fourth dimension of depth and texture. The collection emphasises intricate surfaces, with subtle, nature-inspired patterns and diverse interpretations of stripes, all with a contemporary aesthetic. Every fabric in this collection is crafted from at least 75% recycled or sustainably sourced materials, aligning with the Kirkby commitment to innovative and create responsible design.
DROP is a wide-width drapery fabric, which appears to be delicately adorned with tiny droplets of rainwater. The weave structure creates irregular lines along the surface of the fabric and looks almost like an embroidery. DROP is made from linen and recycled PET, and is Oeko-Tex 100 certified, which means the fabric is free of harmful chemicals.
Linen is considered to be a sustainable fibre as it is a natural product and the entire flax plant can be used when harvested, meaning there is almost no waste created during the spinning and weaving processes.
Flax plants are cultivated at close proximity, producing a high yield and storing large quantities of CO2 each year. Flax plants help improve soil quality which encourages biodiversity in the local ecosystem.
